Mira Levand Bergsland is known for her expertise in insolvency and bankruptcy law.
Mira has worked with restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy law since 2012, as a lawyer for banks, financial institutions, private and listed companies, and as a trustee. She has extensive experience with restructuring and refinancing of debt, reorganization of company structures, securing creditor interests, mortgage-related issues, and drafting of security documentation (loan agreements, mortgage agreements, etc.). She also regularly works with M&A transactions and corporate law issues.
Mira has extensive experience from complex and comprehensive restructuring of companies in the oil/shipping sector, and from the administration of some of Norway's largest bankruptcy estates. Since 2022, she has been appointed as trustee in bankruptcy for Oslo District Court.
Mira also assists real estate companies, property developers, and other businesses with property law issues and transactions, including the drafting of lease agreements (residential and commercial leases), purchase contracts and offers, due diligence reviews, ground lease law, tenancy law and planning law, evictions, and sectioning. Mira also has experience with the so-called “Cooperative housing model", i.e. the conversion of rental buildings into cooperative housing.
Mira is the author of the legal commentary to the Wage Guarantee Act published by Universitetsforlaget (Act No. 61 of 14 December 1973 on state guarantee for salary claims in the event of bankruptcy, etc.), as well as the notes to the same act on www.lovdata.no. As of 1 January 2025, Mira has been appointed as member of the Norwegian Bar Association's legislative committee on bankruptcy, composition, mortgage, enforcement and debt collection law.

Mira won the category of "Promising Talents" in restructuring and bankruptcy in Kapital Jus's lawyer survey for 2024, and has been on the list of ranked lawyers in this survey for several years.
