"Kjersti comes to us with solid employment law expertise and a personality that we know to appreciate here. We have made a strategic decision to strengthen our employment practice and have recruited several new talents in the last couple of years. And our own Jørgen Burdal was promoted to partner at the beginning of the year,” says Anette Mellbye, Bull partner and head of the practice area.

"Adding Kjersti to the team makes us even better equipped to assist our customers with their needs," she adds.

Kjersti has worked on a wide range of employment law issues. They include redundancies, conflicts, equality and discrimination issues, change processes and M&A. She also specialises in public sector law and collective labour law, including negotiation over and interpretation of collective wage agreements.

Partnership growth in the last few years

In recent years, Bull’s size and turnover have both increased. Over the current strategy period, we have sought to expand the broadness of our expertise in selected specialty areas to address issues our customers put forward. And to provide even better advice across disciplines.

For example, we have brought in new partners with solid expertise in company law and transactions, litigation, real estate and sustainability. Bull has experienced solid growth in recent years.

The addition of Kjersti results in a very competent employment team.

"We are working to further consolidate our areas of expertise and provide the best possible advice to our customers. With insight, trust and commitment. The addition of Kjersti results in a very competent employment team,” says Bull CEO, Tine Wærsten.

Importantly, Kjersti is a team player who prioritises making others shine and supporting younger talents. This is a good fit for the culture at Bull.

Experience as private practice and in-house lawyer

Kjersti came to Bull from Wikborg Rein, where she worked for many years. In addition, she has worked as in-house counsel at Tekna and as in-house employment law lawyer in the Gjensidige Group.

"I am really looking forward to becoming a part of Bull and contributing to its growth. Bull is an exciting firm, with core values that are close to my heart. I am sure this is going to be great,” says Kjersti.

"As to employment law as a specialty, it is very dynamic, due to the frequent regulatory changes and developments in the market and in technology. This necessitates focused expertise. Also, we have noticed that an increasing number of employers see the value of discussing changes and opportunities with employment law lawyers at an early stage to ensure optimal and correct processes. This brings us even closer to the client, and I look forward to continuing this important work," she adds.
