Bull strengthens its Restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy team
- Mira is one of the leading young lawyers in the insolvency field and has already gained significant recognition in the industry and earned respect among colleagues. She will make us even better equipped to assist in complex restructurings and help us expand our service offering to banks and financial institutions, says Kristoffer Aasebø, partner and head of the Restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy team at Bull.
Bull's restructuring and insolvency team was ranked for the first time in Chambers Europe 2023 – an important recognition of the group's targeted work on Norwegian and international insolvency related cases in recent years.
- With Mira on board, we will continue to build our competence in this field over time, he continues.
Strengthening our real estate expertise
Mira also brings her expertise in real estate to Bull. She has worked with property law issues as well as real estate transactions. This includes, e.g., assisting with due diligence reviews; preparing offers and purchase contracts; ground lease, tenancy and planning law; leasing contracts, evictions and sectioning.
Bull's Real estate department has demonstrated solid development recently, including several recruitments over the last year.
Helping clients navigate during turbulent times
Mira comes from Wikborg Rein, where she has practiced for several years. She has also worked as a deputy judge in Oslo District Court.
- I am very pleased to be part of Bull's strong professional expertise in restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy. In 2023, we saw a sharp increase in businesses experiencing payment and liquidity challenges – a trend that appears to continue. I look forward to assisting clients in navigating these turbulent times, backed by a strong – and for me new – team, says Mira Levánd Bergsland.
Some may also recall that Mira was a guest on the second season of Bull's podcast Null Bull§hit, about equality and diversity in the legal profession, where she talked about how a mentoring relationship works.
- It means a lot to me that I have become part of a working environment that values personal qualities as much as the professional ones. Bull's values appeal to me, and the high proportion of women at the top level is something I feel is important as well, she concludes.
